NEMO filter jug

Project description

NEMO filter jug - compact and simple solution for water purification in the apartment.

The filter does not require connection and complex maintenance. You pour clean water into a glass and then simply refill the filter to clean the next portion. There is room for a pitcher filter even in the most compact kitchen.

Before starting work, the client registered the terms of reference. One of the main points was the development of a jug filter, which would look very attractive, and at the same time was not too expensive to produce.

This criterion draws the attention of the entire development to the study of existing trends and trends in industrial design. If we are limited in the means of production, then the very hit of a popular trend will form the visual value of the product. It is worth noting that by brand in industrial design, in addition to fashion for certain shapes, textures, colors, as well as ways to combine them, we also mean beautiful proportions and lines of technological sections.

The first stage of sketching is the search for the main one form factor.

In design, as in any other form of fine art, one should move from the general form of form in the initial stages, to more detailed detail in the final stages. At the stage of drawing a general view, it is worth paying attention to the tectonics of water and glass - natural materials that are most associated with this type of product.

Modern industrial design is characterized by clean surfaces due to the common surfaces of various parts. Most often, this effect can be achieved with the help of hidden organizing parts that contain external - facial parts "in the right way." With a small number of parts, there are risks that the desired effect will not be achieved due to the design features, for example, if the parts are forced to "cover" each other, which leads to a complication of the surface. As a result, it looks cheap and unsightly, and the elements of the form seem foreign.

The shape of the bulb, in terms of today's trends, should be geometrically simple. It is desirable to avoid a polygonal (multifaceted) surface as much as possible. The geometry obtained by the method of rotation, or a more complex shape with an equal curvature of the surface, prevails in more expensive models of jugs. The shape of the flask should not be conical upwards, as it is necessary to meet the conditions of injection molding in molds.

It is also important not to overload the jug with unnecessary parts and does not to create hard-to-reach recesses for washing.

Another customer requirement was a matte funnel color. The scenario of using the jug creates conditions under which the funnel will be covered with salt and turbid. Therefore, for reasons of maintaining the attractive appearance of the object after prolonged use of tap water, the funnel should be matte.

The choice of product color, where the optical effects of transparency matter, is very important in terms of harmony in general. If we want to create an image taken from nature, then light shades of colors are more suitable. If we are talking about the image of a bright unnatural object, then spectral colors will be relevant for expressiveness. The color of the lid should complement and harmonize with the color of the funnel.

The product must have an ergonomic semicircular handle.

The handle with two places of fastening does not look expensive, taking into account the developed trend in the design of teapots and jugs. such an online shopping tool as The "price filter" allows receiving the information on external signs of more expensive designs. Handles with one place of fixing are more expensive.

For this reason, we suggested that the customer use a handle with one mounting location in the future design of the jug.

Most often, a small number of parts leads to a visual reduction in the cost of production. The design is designed to solve this problem through originality and innovation. However, caution should be exercised when implementing new solutions, as new approaches may be perceived differently by the target audience.

Also, an important aspect of the design is the integration of the object into the interior and kitchen environment, where there is an "ensemble" of utensils.
