Security system keypad - it is an access identifier designed to work as part of a security system to configure and manage it.

Before developing the keyboard enclosures of the security system, as well as the fire detector (another project we developed for Tiras), we decided on the main task: to create a modern, simple and well-recognized design. Before we got down to business, competitors' devices were clearly ahead of the Tiras in appearance. It was necessary to create a new image using well-tested mechanics.

Devices must fit harmoniously into any interior. Forms should be simple and clear, not to attract too much attention.

The goal we set before the start of development: to create an interesting shape, using fairly inexpensive elements, but in such a way that the device does not look old-fashioned.

The chosen design has two features: a large black smooth area visually makes the screen larger than it actually is. Plus, The body resembles a logo, it's good for recognizability.

During the development process, the industrial designer encountered the difficulty associated with the effect of a curved display. It was easy to draw, but it wasn't easy to make, even though it was a fake overlay that mimicked a curved display. It took a long time to select different methods and materials to realize just such an effect.
